Species
Der Moschusbock (Aromia moschata) ist eine Käferart und gehört zur Familie der Bockkäfer. Er ist der einzige Vertreter der Gattung Aromia, der in Europa heimisch ist. Der Name dieser Käferart ist auf ein stark moschusartig riechendes Sekret zurückzuführen, das die Tiere aus Hinterbrustdrüsen absondern können. Dieses wurde früher zum Parfümieren von Pfeifentabak verwendet. Der Asiatische Moschusbockkäfer (Aromia bungii) in derselben Gattung ist ein gefährlicher Baumschädling, der nach Italien und in Deutschland in die Gegend um Rosenheim in Südbayern eingeschleppt wurde.

The musk beetle (Aromia moschata) is a Eurasian species of longhorn beetle belonging to the subfamily Cerambycinae, tribe Callichromatini. Its name comes from the delicate musky smell it emits when menaced. The beetle has a shell with an iridescence tone that changes with the angle of view. It has a hard shell around the thorax with hard sharp spines.
