
Nausikaya () is a 1995 Croatian film directed, written and produced by Vicko Ruić. It is based on "The Spider", a horror short story by Hanns Heinz Ewers. The film was selected as the Croatian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 69th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.
Matija Remetin is young man who is studying drama in Zagreb just before the outbreak of WW2. He rents the room at Marija Slajner, widow who's three previous tennants had commited suicide. Remetin begins to notice a beautiful and mysterious girl on the other side of street and begins calling her Nausicaa.
