Nesebar is an ancient city on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast that serves as both a major seaside resort and a rich historical museum, shaped by over three thousand years of changing civilizations. The city is divided into two parts—an old settlement on a peninsula and a newer section connected by a narrow artificial isthmus—and is often called the "Pearl of the Black Sea" for its cultural and scenic significance.
