Owned by Great Aycliffe Town Council, the Sports Complex was opened on 31st May 1978 by HRH Prince of Wales. The Sports Complex was re-branded in 1990 and renamed the Oakleaf Sports Complex, continuing to serve those living and working in Newton Aycliffe and the surrounding area. The re-branding of the Sports Complex came from the Town’s name, which is thought to be derived from the ancient oak forest which were abundant in the area. Thus, creating ‘Oakleaf’ Sports Complex. Here at the Oakleaf Sports Complex e are friendly, family orientated facility and we promise quality facilities and activities in a clean, warm and safe environment. There is a wide range of sports and activities to offer for uses of all ages and abilities, starting from the ‘taster’ session for complete beginners right up to adult leagues. We have a computerised system for recording memberships and bookings which we hope will improve our service to you.
