== Geography == Olonets is located at the confluence of the Olonka and Megrega rivers, on the Olonets Plain, southwest of Petrozavodsk, northeast of Saint Petersburg along the highway (Kola highway) and the Lodeynoye Pole–Yanisyarvi railroad.
