Peninsular Shrew

Crocidura negligens is een spitsmuis uit het geslacht Crocidura die voorkomt op het schiereiland Malakka en de nabijgelegen eilanden Koh Samui, Pulau Tioman en Pulau Mapor, tot op minstens 1800 m hoogte. De soort is ook gemeld uit Thailand. Deze soort lijkt sterk op C. fuliginosa en C. malayana, maar is te herkennen aan het karyotype van 2n=38, FN=62. Het is mogelijk dat deze soort samen met C. malayana voorkomt in de hooglanden van het schiereiland, maar op elk eiland komt steeds maar één soort voor. Deze soort is iets kleiner dan C. negligens en C. malayana. De kop-romplengte bedraagt 75 tot 92 mm, de staartlengte 55 tot 69 mm, de achtervoetlengte 13,5 tot 15,8 mm en het gewicht 9,5 tot 12,5 g.
