Peter Rosegger

Peter Rosegger was an Austrian poet and writer who wrote in German. He was educated at the University of Graz and resided in Graz and Krieglach. His professional work included prose and poetry, and he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature. He also used the pseudonyms Gabriel Fels, Peter Kettenfeier, and Petri Kittenfeier.

His notable works include Die Abelsberger Chronik, Dans Ma Foret Natale : Tome I, Jakob der Letzte, Adlerwirt Von Kirchbrunn, and Waldheimat : 1. Band. He had five children. Rosegger was described in the Biographisches Lexikon des Kaiserthums Oesterreich, Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary, and Encyclopædia Britannica 11th edition. He was born on July 31, 1843, and died on June 26, 1918, in Krieglach, where he was also buried.
