Peter Van de Velde (Doel, Belgium, 1972) is titular organist of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Antwerp. Van de Velde grew up in a sailor's family in the Belgian village of Doel. His father was a ship captain and days away from home. At home, there was little particular attention to music, except that his grandmother played the accordion in her younger years, something she had taught herself.
