Per i circuiti elettrici variabili, il fasore (parola macedonia composta da fase e vettore) è un numero complesso, rappresentabile quindi come vettore nel piano complesso, che rappresenta la trasformata di Steinmetz di una funzione sinusoidale di pulsazione ben definita. I fasori sono utilizzati dal metodo simbolico quale comoda rappresentazione in campo complesso di grandezze fisiche reali oscillanti come, in particolare, le grandezze elettriche, tensione o corrente.
