Pherae (Greek: Φεραί) was a city and polis (city-state) in southeastern Ancient Thessaly. One of the oldest Thessalian cities, it was located in the southeast corner of Pelasgiotis. According to Strabo, it was near Lake Boebeïs 90 stadia from Pagasae, its harbor on the Gulf of Pagasae (Geography 9.5). The site is in the modern community of Velestino.

Feras (em grego: Φεραί, transl. Pheraí) foi uma antiga cidade grega situada no sudeste da Tessália. Na mitologia grega era o lar do rei Admeto, cuja esposa, Alceste, teria sido resgatada do Hades por Héracles. Historicamente, eram de lá os tiranos Jasão e Alexandre de Feras, do século IV a.C., que assumiram o controle de boa parte da Tessália antes de serem derrotados por Tebas. Localizava-se nas proximidades da atual cidade de , na prefeitura da Magnésia.
