Phil May is best known as the lead singer of the band, The Pretty Things, of whom he was a founding member. Born Phillip Kattner 1944, Dartford, Kent, England. He was the lyricist for the album, S.F. Sorrow, considered by many to be the first rock opera, and an influence on The Who's Tommy which appeared shortly afterwards. S.F. Sorrow was recorded in Abbey Road Studios.
