PRECIOUS WILSON is a 1 Amazon Best-Selling author and an award-winning international singer, songwriter, and producer, best known as the unmistakable voice behind the legendary group Eruption, Precious Wilson helped define the sound of the late 1970s and 1980s with global classics such as I Can’t Stand the Rain and One Way Ticket. Her powerful, instantly recognisable voice became a cornerstone of the UK Black music revolution. Her influence stands alongside era-defining artists who helped shape British soul, funk, and dance music into a global force, one that continues to influence artists and audiences today. Born in Jamaica and educated in both the UK and the USA, Precious began her professional career as the lead vocalist of the iconic soul-disco group Eruption. The band achieved worldwide success with their explosive cover of the Anne Peebles classic “I Can’t Stand the Rain,” followed by the equally successful “One Way Ticket.” Her solo career further underlined her international appeal. Fan favourites include “Hold on I’m Coming”, “Raising My Family”, “If I Loved You Less”, “The Night the Music Died”, “Cry to Me,” and “Something’s Gotten Hold of My Heart”, records that cemented her reputation as a powerhouse vocalist with unmistakable soul. The Jive Records release “I’ll Be Your Friend” became a dance-soul favourite and reached the Top 40 of the Billboard R&B Chart. She later recorded the title track for the Hollywood blockbuster The Jewel of the Nile, starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny DeVito, written by Graham Lyle and Terry Britten, the legendary songwriting duo behind Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do with It”. In 1988, Precious made history as the first UK-based Black female artist to undertake an extensive tour of the former USSR. Invited by the Soviet Cultural Ministry, she performed 55 sold-out concerts across six Soviet republics, marking a landmark cultural moment in international music history. Beyond recording, Precious has enjoyed a distinguished career across stage and screen. She received critical acclaim for her performance in the hit musical Blues in the Night and has appeared on major stages worldwide, including the Royal Variety Show in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, performances at the Royal Albert Hall, Monte Carlo, and the Kremlin, as well as shows attended by international royalty. Over the years, she has toured and performed in more than 40 countries, collaborating and sharing stages with legendary artists such as James Brown, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Sir Cliff Richard, Michael Bolton, Little Richard, and Boney M, among others.
