Preston Foster (born in Pitman, NJ, on 24 August 1900; died 14 July 1970) was an African-American musician best remembered for writing the blues standard "Got My Mojo Working". First recorded by Ann Cole in 1956, the song was popularized by Muddy Waters with his version in 1957 (Rolling Stone magazine included Waters' rendition of the song at number 359 on its list of 500 Greatest Songs of All Time).
