== Taxonomy == The genus, first described by Finnish mycologist Petter Adolf Karsten in 1868, has not yet been classified with certainty into a family. Molecular research, based on cladistic analysis of DNA sequences, has confirmed Pseudohydnum as a natural (monophyletic) taxon.
