==Taxonomy== The family Lathyidae was established by Cala-Riquelme, Montana, Crews & Esposito in 2025 as part of a major revision of Dictynidae sensu lato. The family name is based on the type genus Lathys, which was originally described by Eugène Simon in 1885 as a replacement name for Lethia Menge, 1869, which was preoccupied by a genus of moths.
