== History == In 1850, Father Antonio Moreno, an Augustinian Recollect, spearheaded the construction of the municipality's town hall. He also laid out the layouts for the plaza and municipal streets. Moreno later opened more roads to the north, paving the way for the establishment of the sitios Payabon and Ayungon. Its position as a municipality was reaffirmed under Executive Order No. 37 in 1908.
