== Technology == XigmaNAS is an embedded open-source NAS software distribution based on the latest release of FreeBSD. It is free software under the terms of the Simplified BSD license. It was developed from the original FreeNAS 7 code and updated to work with current FreeBSD releases while preserving FreeNAS's original m0n0wall/PHP architecture and introducing experimental support for the ARM architecture.
