==Early life== Ramapala was the youngest son of Vigrahapala III. His mother was an unknown Rashtrakuta princess, the sister of Mathana, who ruled Anga as a Pala feudatory. Ramapala showed valour in the battlefield during the reign of his father, according to the Manahali copper plate.
