Rhenanida ("Rhine (fish)") is an order of scaly placoderms. Unlike most other placoderms, the rhenanids' armor was made up of a mosaic of unfused scales and tubercles. All rhenanids were flattened, ray-like, bottom-dwelling predators that lived in marine environments.
