Robert L. Behnken

Robert L. Behnken is an American military officer, astronaut, and engineer who serves as an employee of NASA. Born in Creve Coeur on July 28, 1970, he is a member of the United States Air Force with the rank of colonel. He is part of the NASA Astronaut Group 18 and has held the position of Chief of the Astronaut Office. Behnken has been a crew member on the missions STS-123, STS-130, and Crew Dragon Demo-2.

He received his education at Washington University in St. Louis, the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School, and the California Institute of Technology. Behnken has accumulated 8,077,320 seconds in space. His awards include the NASA Space Flight Medal, the NASA Exceptional Service Medal, the Commendation Medal, and the Congressional Space Medal of Honor. He is married to Megan McArthur and speaks English.
