Robert James Smith is an English singer, songwriter and musician. He is the lead singer, guitarist, lyricist and principal songwriter of the rock band the Cure. He is the band's only constant member since its formation in 1976. He has also played guitar in the band Siouxsie and the Banshees. Smith is a multi-instrumentalist, known for his unique stage look and distinctive voice.

Robert James Smith [ˈɹɒbət d͡ʒeɪmz smɪθ] né le 21 avril 1959 à Blackpool dans le Lancashire, est un auteur-compositeur-interprète et producteur anglais. Essentiellement connu pour son travail en tant que leader du groupe The Cure dont il est le chanteur et le guitariste depuis sa création en 1976, il est l'auteur de la quasi-totalité des textes qu'il interprète et le principal compositeur des musiques. Robert Smith a également été guitariste et membre officiel du groupe Siouxsie and the Banshees pendant dix huit mois entre 1982 et 1984. Il a aussi co-fondé le projet the Glove en 1983.
