==Name== The name Rottenmann is a semi-translation of old Slavic *čьrmьn′ane, ultimately derived from the adjective *čьrmьnъ 'red' (cf. German rot 'red'). The place name was recorded in 1048 as Cirminah, derived from the hydronym *Čьrmьna 'red (river)'.
