Ruby Violet Payne-Scott sposata Hall (Grafton, 28 maggio 1912 – , 25 maggio 1981) è stata una fisica, docente e ricercatrice australiana, pioniera della radiofisica e della radioastronomia che, esplorando lo spazio attraverso le onde radio, ha gettato le basi del nuovo campo della scienza, la radioastronomia. Dopo il matrimonio è stata costretta a dimettersi, perché le regole dell'epoca impedivano alle donne sposate di lavorare a tempo pieno.
