Sancerre (lateinisch Sacrum Caesaris, später Sincerra) ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 1349 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Januar 2019) im Département Cher in Zentralfrankreich. Sancerre liegt etwa 150 m höher als die nahe gelegene Loire und der Loire-Seitenkanal (Canal latéral à la Loire) auf einem Hügel und ist dadurch von weit her sichtbar. Der Ort ist rund 40 km von den Städten Bourges und Nevers entfernt.
