Schierling ist ein Markt im Oberpfälzer Landkreis Regensburg in Bayern. Der Markt ist ein bedeutender Gewerbestandort und die südlichste Gemeinde der Oberpfalz. Vor den Toren Schierlings besiegte Napoleon mit seinen Verbündeten in der „Schlacht bei Eggmühl“ die Österreicher. Bereits zu Zeiten Kaiser Ottos I. bezog dieser bei der Belagerung von Regensburg an der von den Römern gebauten Via Claudia Augusta, der Straße mit dem Namen ihres Kaisers Augustus, sein Hauptquartier in Schierling.
