En stor fladdermusart med en vingbredd på cirka 34–38 centimeter, kroppslängd mellan 6 och 8 centimeter (huvud och bål) och vikt upp till 35 gram. Pälsen är rödbrun på ovansidan, ljusbrun på buken.
