Sheikh Hasina

Sheikh Hasina is a female politician, writer, and jurist born in 1947 in Tungipara Upazila. She is a member of the Bangladesh Awami League and holds citizenship in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Her political career includes serving as Prime Minister of Bangladesh, president, and Leader of the Opposition. She speaks and writes in Bangla, and her name in her native language is শেখ হাসিনা.

She is the daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib. Her spouse is M. A. Wazed Miah, and they have two children, Sajeeb Wazed and Saima Wazed. She also has siblings named Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Russel, Sheikh Rehana, and Sheikh Jamal. Her religious worldview is Islam.

Hasina has received the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Peace Prize, Indira Gandhi Peace Prize, Champions of the Earth, and recognition in the Time 100 collection.
