==Historical demographics== In 1900, Vasil Kanchov gathered and compiled statistics on demographics in the area and reported the populations of ten villages in the modern municipality, including Bllacë, Boçevë, Homesh ( Omezhe), Kovashicë, Mazhicë, Okshatinë, Shtushaj, Topojan, Vlashaj and Zogjaj.
