Sibelco is a global material solutions company. We mine, process and sell industrial minerals at locations worldwide, focused primarily on silica, clays, feldspathics and olivine. We are also leaders in glass recycling. Sibelco delivers solutions for society and supports the progress of modern life, from drinking water sanitation to solar technology and from flame retardants to smartphone screens. We serve industries as diverse as glass, ceramics, construction, coatings, polymers and water purification. Environmental and social responsibility are central to our vision, strategy and day-to-day business. We have set clearly-defined sustainability priorities and targets, developed via a comprehensive process which identified our key environmental and social objectives. Sibelco was founded in 1872, initially supplying silica sand from deposits in Flanders to Belgium’s major glass producers. Our association with the UK clay industry stretches back even further. Today, Sibelco is a global material solutions business, operating 118 production sites in 31 countries with a team of over 5,000 people. 2022 is the 150th anniversary of the start of Sibelco. We are marking the occasion with a series of events across the company, joining with colleagues, customers and stakeholders worldwide to celebrate our rich industrial heritage and to look to the future. The Board of Directors is the highest corporate body within the Sibelco Group. The Board has delegated its management and operational powers to the Executive Committee (ExCo).
