Выпущена в 1999 году. Сюжет игры построен на вымышленой попытке людей колонизировать планету в системе Альфа Центавра. Игра начинается там, где кончается одна из предыдущих игр Рейнолдса — Civilization II. Также было выпущено дополнение под названием Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire (рус. Перекрёстный огонь чужих Сида Мейера; SMACX или SMAX).
