Sehbehinderte oder blinde Athleten sind bei der Ausübung ihres Sports oft auf Begleitläufer angewiesen. Der Begleitläufer, oft auch Guide genannt, führt den behinderten Athleten über die Wettkampfstrecke. Besondere Bedeutung kommt dem Begleitläufer im Skilanglauf und Biathlon zu.
