French screen actress Simone Simon's film career spanned the years 1931-1973. She is best remembered, regarding her English language roles, for the Hollywood films The Devil and Daniel Webster [originally titled All That Money Can Buy] (1941), Cat People (1942), and The Curse of the Cat People (1944). Simon died in Paris in 2005.

Simone Thérèse Fernande Simon (April 23, 1910 (some sources say 1911) – February 22, 2005) was a French film actress who began her film career in 1931. Born in Béthune, Pas-de-Calais (some sources say Marseilles) France, she was the daughter of Henri Louis Firmin, a French engineer, and Erma Maria Domenica Giorcelli, an Italian housewife. Simonne Thérèse Fernande Simon, dite Simone Simon, née le 23 avril 1911 à Marseille, et morte le 22 février 2005 à Paris 8e, est une actrice française. Sa carrière cinématographique s’étend sur quatre décennies, du début des années 1930 au début des années 1970, période pendant laquelle elle tourne près de quarante films en France, en Italie, en Allemagne, en Grande-Bretagne et à Hollywood, pour des metteurs en scène aussi prestigieux que Jean Renoir, Jacques Tourneur, Max Ophüls ou Marc Allégret. Elle reste à la postérité pour deux films particulièrement marquants : La Bête humaine de Jean Renoir (1938) et La Féline (1942) que Jacques Tourneur réalise à Hollywood.
