==History== The name of Spaxton may originate from Spakr, a Dane who settled in the area in about the 9th century. An alternative derivation is that it means "councillor's enclosure", from the Old English spæcas and tun. It is recorded as Spachestone in the 1086 Domesday Book, when the land was held by Alfred of Spain.
