==Systematics== thumb|right|upright|Cafius algophilus ([[Staphylinini)]] As it seems, the Staphylininae are part of a large clade together with the subfamilies Euaesthetinae, Leptotyphlinae, Megalopsidiinae, Oxyporinae, Paederinae, Pseudopsinae, Scydmaeninae, Solieriinae, Steninae, and the extinct Protactinae which are only known from fossils.
