Stephen D. Krasner

Stephen D. Krasner is an American political scientist, writer, and academic born in New York City in 1942. He serves as a university teacher at Stanford University, where his work focuses on international relations and political science. Krasner is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and previously held the position of Director of Policy Planning. He speaks English and was advised by Samuel P. Huntington during his doctoral studies.

Krasner was educated at Harvard University, Columbia University, Cornell University, and the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. His notable works include *Exploration and contestation in the study of world politics*, *Power, the state and sovereignty*, *Problematic Sovereignty*, *Asymmetries in Japanese-American trade*, and *Soberania* (Paidos Estado y Sociedad).
