Sylvia Constantinidis was born in Venezuela of Greek ancestry and began her study of music at an early age in Caracas. Her music teachers in Venezuela were: Blanca Estrella de Mescoli, Modesta Bor, Abraham Abreu, Alberto Grau, María Guinand, Beatriz Bilbao, Luis Felipe Ramón y Rivera and Isabel Aretz.
