==Taxonomy== The genus Tachyspiza was introduced in 1844 by the German naturalist Johann Jakob Kaup with Falco soloensis Horsfield (Chinese sparrowhawk) as the type species. The name combines the Ancient Greek ταχυς (takhus) meaning "fast" with σπιζιας (spizias) meaning "hawk".
