The company operates its main production site adjacent to the Oreste Salomone Airport in Capua. Tecnam ranks among the top manufacturers of piston-powered general aviation aircraft by unit deliveries, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association.
The company was founded in 1986 by the two Italian brothers Luigi Pascale and Giovanni Pascale, veteran aircraft designers and manufacturers. Prior to creating Tecnam, they had established Partenavia Costruzioni Aeronautiche in 1957.
