Damit ist der frühere Inselhauptort heute die zweitgrößte Stadt der Insel. Nahe dem Gemeindeteil Gando liegt der internationale Flughafen von Gran Canaria. Telde liegt etwa 15 Kilometer südlich von Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
