Templin is een stad in de Duitse deelstaat Brandenburg, ca. 80 kilometer ten noorden van Berlijn. De stad telt 15.636 inwoners. Het historische stadje Templin ligt in de toeristische streek Uckermark te midden van licht heuvelend landschap met veel bos. Van de oude stad zijn de stadsmuren in hun geheel bewaard; ook staan nog drie stadspoorten overeind. Werkgelegenheid haalt Templin uit de overheids- en dienstensector, in het bijzonder toerisme. Direct ten zuiden van de stad ligt een thermen-centrum met verschillende zwembaden, thermische baden en sauna's. Templin werd bekend als de stad waar bondskanselier Angela Merkel een groot deel van haar schooltijd heeft doorgebracht.
