Vogels Tephrodornis is een geslacht van zangvogels uit de familie Vangidae. Het zijn fraai zwart wit gekleurde zangvogels die qua gedrag en uiterlijk zowel op vliegenvangers als op klauwieren lijken. Het zijn insecteneters die voorkomen in Zuid-Azië van Pakistan tot Indochina en in de Indische Archipel tot de Wallacelijn. Taxonomie Over de plaatsing van dit geslacht en het aantal soorten binnen dit geslacht bestaat geen consensus. The woodshrikes are a genus, Tephrodornis, of birds in the family Vangidae.
==Taxonomy== The genus Tephrodornis was introduced in 1832 by the English naturalist William Swainson with the large woodshrike as the type species. The genus name combines the Ancient Greek tephōdēs meaning "like ashes" or "ash-coloured" with ornis meaning "bird".
