textpattern.com →Textpattern CMS is an elegant content management system that is free, open source software. Web designers, developers, publishers and bloggers love its flexibility and extensibility. It has a powerful, sophisticated engine that can be infinitely tuned to suit whatever type of website you can imagine. With its built-in simplicity, a blogger can start publishing in minutes. Designers and developers appreciate the ability to control all aspects of HTML and CSS from the administration interface, and with hundreds of plugins available, the power of Textpattern CMS is easily extended. Textpattern uses built-in language tags as placeholders to determine how dynamic content should be retrieved and displayed. You have complete control over the content and presentation, making the CMS both simple and elegant to use. The administration interface is minimalist, efficient and clearly labelled. Designers can quickly produce well-structured, standards-compliant websites while authors can get on with publishing and editing content. Textile, which uses just a few markers to nudge plain text into fully-formatted web content, is built-in. The core features are greatly extended through the use of plugins. Need a special function? Find the plugin , copy and paste it into the plugin field and activate. Simple as that! There’s no need to know any PHP or JavaScript coding to use Textpattern, though many web developers create plugins for all kinds of purposes. The friendly community forum will most likely make you a plugin if it hasn’t already been made. Unlike some other forums, the Textpattern developers themselves answer questions, listen to suggestions and write plugins too. Absolutely! The development team and community thoroughly test each release before it is made public. Be assured the software is robust, reliable, and mature. Discover how Textpattern helps you rapidly make a website, and why it’s unique as a designer’s content management system. Textpattern is built for content publishers to Just Write. Whether you’re writing for a corporation or for your own blog, Textpattern lets your words take centre stage. Check the minimum and recommended system requirements in order to run Textpattern CMS. The Textpattern CMS core user interface has been localized into many languages. Of course, we always welcome further translations and/or improvements by the community. More translations are added all the time! Many people have tirelessly helped shape the direction of Textpattern CMS over the years and into the future – we strive to credit them here, where possible.

The development snapshot can be obtained from the Textpattern repository on GitHub. As a development version approaches release, minimum and recommended system requirements are confirmed and the production release system requirements is updated accordingly. The following table outlines anticipated forthcoming changes to system requirements. It takes into account vendor support, security considerations, overall performance and other factors. Note that minimum and/or recommended versions listed may change multiple times during the development process. We are targeting Textpattern 5 as the next major release. Refer to the following table for anticipated changes to system requirements for Textpattern 5. We generally recommend running Textpattern on platforms with active vendor support where possible, though we also maintain a minimum system requirements list for situations where that isn't viable. Note that versions listed may change multiple times during the development process. Please refer to the contributing documentation for more details of Textpattern development. Thank you to our GitHub sponsors. Your continued support is greatly appreciated! We are grateful to DigitalOcean, BrowserStack and 1Password for their kind considerations in supporting Textpattern CMS development by way of web hosting infrastructure (DigitalOcean), cross-browser testing platform (BrowserStack) and secure password management (1Password). Thank you!
