== Etymology == The Livonian toponym Thoreyda (also Thoreida and German Treiden) attested in the Chronicle of Livonia is interpreted as the 'garden of Taara – Thor' from Taara + *aida 'garden'. If this interpretation is correct, the theonym Taara was also known in Livonian.
