Tytułową rolę zagrali Bill Bixby i Lou Ferrigno, a obok nich wystąpił również Jack Colvin. Pilotowy odcinek, The Incredible Hulk, został pokazany w postaci filmu telewizyjnego 4 listopada 1977 roku na antenie CBS. Drugi odcinek, The Incredible Hulk: Death in the Family, wyemitowano również w postaci filmu telewizyjnego pod koniec tego samego miesiąca. Regularną emisję pierwszego sezonu rozpoczęto 10 marca 1978 roku. Serial zakończono po pięciu sezonach, a ostatni odcinek wyemitowano 13 maja 1982 roku.
