Thomas Randle

From the moment Thomas' father Dean brought him home a Go Kart, Thomas has had a passion for speed. Thomas began his karting career at the age of seven, and has been helped every step of the way by his father Dean, who was the 2006 Australian Kerrick Sports Sedan Champion. Tom and his father didn't take karting seriously until he moved up into the Junior Ranks, such as Junior National Light, Junior Clubman, Junior Rotax and Pro Junior (KF3). It was here where Thomas crafted and proved his skill and ultimately his will to win. In 2011, Thomas won his first major event at the Rotax Pro Tour in Canberra in the Junior Rotax Category, and ever since then, he clicked and won race after race. In the space of two years (2011 and 2012), Thomas proved very successful in karting, winning the Junior Sprint Classics, the City of Melbourne Titles, winning five state karting championships and two Australian Karting Championships. Aswell as this, Thomas raced numerous times overseas, representing Australia in New Zealand for the Trans - Tasman Rotax Challenge, England in the British Super One Series, and Portugal for the Rotax World Finals. At the end of 2012, and after proving to be a successful karting driver, Thomas and his father decided to make the step out of karts and progress into Formula Ford in 2013. In 2013, Thomas won numerous State Formula Ford races, and contested six of the seven rounds in the Australian Formula Ford Championship, finishing runner up in the Rookie of the Year Standings. He also that year invented an Automatic Dog Feeder for his Year 12 Systems Engineering project, which received a government award and was featured on National Television and Radio stations, local and state newspapers, and was put on display in the Melbourne Museum. In 2014, Thomas competed in the full series of the Australian Formula Ford Series with his father's new team DREAM Motorsport, where he ultimately won the Australian Formula Ford Title, with one pole positon, five race wins, a 100 percent finishing record and numerous podium finishes. He also raced in his fathers SAAB Sports Sedan twice, claiming a pole position, a lap record, and one national race win. Aside from this achievement, Thomas also completed his Year 12 Studies at Beaconhills College in Pakenham and received his VCE Certificate and was awarded with a scholarship to attend Swinburne University. In 2015, Thomas contested the five round Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand in January / Feburary, where he raced against 20 drivers from all around the world. He claimed two podium finishes, and one lap record. Thomas completed his first semester at Swinburne University undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering Mechanical and is currently on a Leave of Absence to fully focus on his racing career. He competed in the inaugral CAMS Jayco Australian Formula Four Championship, winning seven races, grabbing the most pole positions out of any driver and claiming two lap records, ultimately becoming vice champion. Tom also competed in the Kerrick Sports Sedan Series, finishing in 3rd place with two wins, one pole position and 3 DNF's due to mechanical failures. Late in the year, Tom was lucky enough to test a Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 car with Erebus Motorsport at Phillip Island, and head over to Spain to complete in a two day European Formula 3 test at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia with T-Sport Racing. Thomas competed in the 2016 Toyota Racing Series New Zealand Grand Prix as a one off event and finished in 5th place. He competed in the 2016 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship with Douglas Motorsport, finishing fourth in the championship; scoring two wins, six podiums and one pole position. Thomas made his debut in LMP3 racing in the Prototype Cup at Snetterton with Douglas Motorsport.
