Threshold è una serie televisiva statunitense di genere fantascientifico, trasmessa per la prima volta dalla rete americana CBS nel settembre 2005. Prodotta da Brannon Braga, David Goyer e David Heyman, la serie si basa sull'idea di un progetto governativo segreto volto ad investigare sul primo contatto con una specie extraterrestre. In Italia è stata trasmessa per la prima volta il 28 dicembre 2006 dalla rete televisiva Rai 2 e in contemporanea con Fox che trasmetteva gli episodi a distanza di 3 giorni. A causa degli alti costi di produzione, bastarono alcuni episodi con ascolti non abbastanza soddisfacenti per decidere la chiusura della serie.Il finale è realizzato in fretta e furia e lascia molto spazio all'immaginazione.
