Born as Tetiana Liberman (Тетяна Григорівна Ліберман) to Ukrainian parents in Orotukan, Magadan Oblast, Russian Far East, Karol moved to Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine at the age of six. She graduated from a music school and a Kyiv music institute.
