Tristichopteridae

Tristichopteridae (лат.) — семейство вымерших лопастепёрых рыб из отряда остеолепидообразных (Osteolepidiformes), сыгравшее значимую роль в эволюционном становлении четвероногих позвоночных животных. Были разнообразной и успешной группой тетраподоморфных рыб, существовавшей на протяжении среднего и верхнего девона. Впервые появились в живетском веке среднего девона. Размеры варьировали в диапазоне от нескольких десятков сантиметров (Tristichopterus) до нескольких метров (гинерия и Eusthenodon). Некоторые Tristichopteridae по ряду признаков близки к Elpistostegalia, группе рыб, близких к предкам тетрапод. В основном это касается формы черепа и уменьшения размера задних плавников. Есть старая и стойкая теория, что Eusthenopteron был в состоянии выползать на сушу с помощью своих плавников. Но этому нет никаких доказательств. Все Tristichopteridae вымерли в конце девона.

Tristichopterids (Tristichopteridae) were a diverse and successful group of fish-like tetrapodomorphs living throughout the Middle and Late Devonian. They first appeared in the Eifelian stage of the Middle Devonian. Within the group sizes ranged from a few tens of centimeters (Tristichopterus) to several meters (Hyneria and Eusthenodon).
Some tristichopterids share some of the features of the elpistostegalians, a diverse clade of tetrapodomorphs close to the origin of (and including) tetrapods. This mainly concerns the shape of the skull and a reduction in size of the posterior fins.
