==History== On 1 January 2024, Cherves-Richemont and Saint-Sulpice-de-Cognac merged to create the new commune of Val-de-Cognac. This merger was validated by the two municipal councils on 26 April 2023 and endorsed by a prefectural decree of 25 September.
