The closest train station is in Ilanz, with trains from Chur. From there a postal bus runs hourly to Vals (36 minutes).
Vals is manageable on foot. During the winter season, there is a free shuttle bus running through the village.
Zervreilasee is a damned lake up the valley its glacial blue surface reflects the surrounding mountain scape, taking in the impressive Zervreillahorn.

Vals is a commune in the Ariège department in southwestern France.
It is known for the church "Eglise Rupestre de Vals" which is built into the giant rocks that make up its foundation. Picturesque in itself, it has a view of the valley spread out before it.
